A tough commuter first introduced to Cannondale’s range in 1999, the Bad Boy has been a mainstay of the brand’s line-up ever since.
Over the years, it’s developed a cult following, mutating as components have come and gone. Over the years, the Bad Boy has had Headshock and Lefty suspension setups along with internal gear hubs and external drive trains, but at its core it’s remained more or less the same: rugged, black, tough, cool.
For Cannondale’s 50th birthday, the Bad Boy’s getting a facelift. In collaboration with the London skate and streetwear brand, Palace, Cannondale presents the Mad Boy. Leave the Lycra and drop bars at home! The Cannondale Mad Boy takes inspiration from racing heritage, zany rave-flyers, ‘00s motocross, classic video games and skateboarding.
This bike is very similar to the Bad Boy 2 build with a 2×9 Shimano Altus drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, 650b x 40mm WTB Byway tires, and a Lefty fork.
Rigid Lefty with integrated LED strip down the front of the fork. The Mad Boy also includes an alloy seatpost with an integrated rear LED light.
